The grand and impressive im-pressive ceremonial of the solemn muss of requiem for Pope Pius IX was observed in ita entirety to day in tbe cardinals church, St. Patrick's cathedral. cathe-dral. The services lasted from half-past half-past nine until half-past one, under the direction of Rev. Father Kearney, pastor of the cathedral and master of ceremonies. Bishop Lough 1 in was celebrant, attended by the usual deacons and Bubdeacona. The office for the dead was chanted by about 150 prieBts and 50 choristers, all led by the venerable and distinguished Ticar General Quinn. The cathedral was crowded, and included in the congregation con-gregation were officers of the national, state and municipal governments. The music of the maaa was sung by a large number of voices. The cata-lalque cata-lalque was of exceptional elegance and around it a detachment of former papal zouaves in uniform, and bearing arms.
