Show Coke. Yesterday evening we Baw several specimens of coke, made from ccal taken from extensive deposits in the: Bear River country, in the vicinity of Smith's fork. The aamplc-e we saw had the appearance of being of very fine quality, and experts who examined ex-amined tbem were of the opinion that they were better than any that have ever been burned in this part of the country. The owners of the beds are confident that the supply of this commodity will prove large and that the coal for coking purposes or coke already charred can be Bbipped from the diggings and delivered at the nearest point on the railroad at rates that will justify the proprietors in going go-ing ahead. Good coal fields are valu-! able property in thia region, and we wish the gentlemen intereated in developing them good luck and prosperity. |
