Hammond, clerk of Cache county, came as far as Farm-ington Farm-ington last eveuing and erpecU to be in Salt Like Friday. Mesirs. Angot and Andre, from France, have arrived in Oden, and will institute measures at once for tbe observation of tbe transit of Mercury on the 6th of next month. Col. McConibe, 14th infantry, arrived ar-rived from Beaver last evening, looking look-ing as bale, hearty and happy ns usual. The colonel is en route to Europe, where he goes on pleasure bent, and expects to be absent from his regiment about ten months. Mr. and Mm. W. 8. McCornick and Prof, and Mrs. L. E. Holden left for the west yesterday afternoon on a pleasure and sight-seeing tour. They go first to Virginia city and tben to San Francisco, and will be gone two or three weeks. |
