Show The Excursion. The excursion yesterday over the Utah Southern railroad to the end ol the track, gotten up by the officers of that company in honor of General Ccwan, assistant secretary of tho interior, in-terior, was attended by a large number num-ber of ladies and gentlemen who had been invited to participate in the affair. The party left on a special train at S o'clock in the morning and ran through to the terminus at York in about four hours. On returning the party were invited by Gsneral Schofield; president of the B. C. & C. F. R.R. to run over that road from the junction near Sandy to the terminus term-inus up Bingham canon, and quite a number of the party availed themselves them-selves of the courtesy. Trie excursion excur-sion train with those of the party who did not go up to Bingham, arrived in the city at 4 o'clock, and the balance of the party came in on the regular evening train. General Cowan and the other invited in-vited guests appeared to enjoy the trip very much and the time passed pleasantly in conversation and the interchange of social civilities between the guests. |
