Secret. ry Delano, to-day, affirmed thi decision, together with the actiou of tht general land office in issuing p.it nu l-r the Priuce of Wait. a, AnLeJope, and Wandering Boy mined, which cover portions of 'mining ground heretofore erroneously erroneous-ly patented to the Highland Chief company. The secretary of the inferior in-ferior alro, to day, made the request, suggested by the commissioner of the laud office, asking the attorney gene-iral gene-iral to authorize proceedings necessary j to ct aside the Highland (Joief 's patent, so far as it conflicted with 1 thote already is-ucd fur the mines above-named. The controversy will thereforo soon bo transferred to the United States courts. It involves pecuniary pe-cuniary interests of very great magui-j magui-j tude, and has been one ot the most ' closely and strenuously contested - mining cises ever known to the " record of the department. |
