Show The Excursion. Editors fftrald: Salt LiKE.Iay, 20, 1S7S. A com muni cation appeared in your paper a few days ago signed by 'Bookkeeper," tin which tho writer urged that the excursion to San Fran cisconoxt month should leave about the 12th instead ot the 2oih; and lurther assuring the public that unless the lime were so chauged, he, together with some other book Keepers, would be uuable to accompany the party. In my opinion, the gentleman Bprings lus objections ai iou late a day, for upon inquiring 1 have ascertained, that a ltrge majority major-ity of those intending to go have completed com-pleted their arrangements to leave near the end of the month, many ol them having already secured hotel accommodations in San Francisco. Another reason why we should go on the day appointed is that we may arrive in time to witness the Fourth of July celebration; lor on that day we ahall be able to take iu the sights to much better advantage. We shall then see the Bay city lull of patriotism, patriot-ism, excitement and pleasure; aud it is, I believa, for this very reason that the managers have bo widely decided . the proper time to start.
