Show Attempted Suicide. Last evening one of the frail creaturea ot Silt Lake, who liveB at the house kept by Lue Wallace, and goes under tho name of Retta Amoner, made a very unsuccessful attempt to shuffle ofl the coil. She had borrowed a pistol from the Chiuamancook there, a day or two ago, and frightened the inmates by discharging it unexpectedly, unex-pectedly, whereupon thOBe who were in the house ran into the room and found her flying on the floor, the blood flowing from her and her night clothes being on fire. The fire w.h speedily extinguished and doctors called in who dressed the wound. 8he was alone at the time and muBt have had the weapon in her left hand, and judging from the wound might have been attempting to shoot herself thrjugh from side tq side. The ball eoleied the fleshy part of the right ahoulder just below the blada, lodging there, and waB taken out at the ' back of the shoulder. The wound is not at all dangerous. It was reported by BOme to have been an accident, hut cir cumBtanceB are bo strong against such i an idea, that it is not entertained by any. The cause is unknown, but a man is believed to be at the bottom of , it as usual. ' ! |
