Commerce Treaty, San Francisco, 20, A apei ial meeting meet-ing ot the chamber of commerce w.ib held to-day to hear the argument of Leon Chotteau of the chamber of commerce of Paris on the ouhjeol oi a commercial treaty between France aid the United Siats. President Patrick read the appeal of the French committee to the people of the United States in favor of the treaty, alter which M. Chotteau read a speech to the same purport. A resolution was pissed expressing the adhesion of the chamber to the project of forming a treaty of commerce between France and the United States and a desire to join other cities iu seconding the movement. A committee was appointed, ap-pointed, consisting of Alex. Weill, C. Adolphe Low, Wm. T. Coleman, S. L. Jones, and Emile Grisar to reiire Bent San Francisco in a meeting of delegates at Washington. |
