Show CACHE COUNTY. . PROVIDENCE. At a meeting of tbe laxpayera.held Saturday, 5ih inBt., it was decided to support the schools by taxatioa, the rdto being fixed at one and one-half per cent. Tbe assessable property is valued at $52,105.00, and will give a tax of i781.57. The people intend to commence, this week, to haul rock for a new school house. The public hall is to ha painted and thoroughly rtpaired. Prof. Taylor, the magician, performed to a good bouse on Friday evening. schools. Most of the schools in thia county were reopened Monday, 7th inst., and no doubt are weil attended. In Login, thus far, about 400 students are enrolled. As soon aa well started, further reports will be given of all the schools. SOCIABLE. One of the most pleasing events of the season was a sociable, given by Dr. and Mrs. Orraaby on Tuesday evening. AbouUtwenty-five couples were present, and enjoyed IhemBelvtB in dancing, with an occasional song and recitation. These private parties are far . too few, acd should more geneially take the place of the many public balls. IMPROVING. John Holland, injured by the railroad rail-road accident at Franklin, is recovering recover-ing slowly, but h now considered out ot danger. Young Haney of Hyde park, whose toes were amputated, is all right again. Clarence Hammond and Joseph Davis, injured IbbI week, are doing well. - PERSONALS. Bishop R. T. Burton and wife of Salt Lake, and Judge W. N. Dusen-berry Dusen-berry of Provo came to Logan on Saturday and remained until Tuesday. Miss Joan Cmpbe!l returns home (o day. Bishop W. B.
