Show Rev. Father Hjciey of Kentucky ii denouncing the Murphy movement, move-ment, and requesting the members ol hia congregation to have nothing to do with it, ai it ia calculated to lead them away from the church. He recently adviBed those who had on blue badges to remove them, saying that if they lived up to what the ohurch taught it would not be neces-aary neces-aary to aign any Buch pledge or engage in such a movement. The reverend father cornea nearer to being right than the enthuaiastic Murphyitea would like to admit. A blue ribbon on the lappel of the coat will not reform a drunkard, and if a man can not resist the bowl's temptation wnn out an oath to abstain, we doubt if the "swear" will have a lasting eflect. |
