Show luui .Tlo are's Bust. New York, 28. Prospect Park waB crowded to-day with residents of Brooklyn and New York to witness tho ceremonies of a presentation of a bust cf Tom Moore to the City ol Brooklyn, by St. Patrick's Society. Hon. Thomas Kiusolla, editor of the Brooklyn Eagle and president of the Moore Society, made tho presentation address, and the bust was unveiled by the sculptor, John Draddy. President Stranahan, of the Park commission, made a speech accepting tho efatue. Mr. Andrew McLean, managing editor edi-tor of the Eagle, read a poem and was followed by the orator of the day, Cbarlea W, Brooke. The exerciseB closed with music when the committee of arrangemeuls, together with the leading men present, pres-ent, entered carriages and returned early in the evening to the Mansion House, Brooklyn, where one of the most elegant bauquets ever served in tho city was participated in by some 200 prominent Irishmen of Brooklyn and inviled guests, including man) gentlemen distinguished in literary!; work and various other walks of life, i |
