Show ! The Old Telegraph. The break in the Old Telegraph smelter moved less serious than waa 1 at first thought, aud the necessary 1 repairs have been made so rapidly that the furnaces are either started up again or will be iu a very short time. Au increased force of men haa been employed up at the mine, and the property in Bingham will probably be worked lo ita ut-j ut-j most capacity. This, of course, j will increase the work for the amelt-Crs amelt-Crs and the bullion turned out will also increase proportionately. The new company is knovf n aa the Societe dea Mines d'Argent et Fon-Ideries Fon-Ideries de Bingham, and it U reported i that the bullion now being turned out 'of tbe smelters is for the French mar-jket mar-jket instead of the American. Thia I being the case, the ex tensive prepara-j prepara-j tions now going on at the Bmelter and mine may readily be accounted for, even at this period of low lead figures, as tbe bullion will virtually bo unaffected un-affected by Americau prices. It is encouraging to note this improvement in the late Old Telegraph properties. |
