According J to programme, a committee lei t 1 0,;den and met the party at Evans-! Evans-! toa. The committee embraced Gov. Emery, Secretary Tnomas, Rev. H , Skewes ar.d others, and were intro 1 ouced to Rtv. J. R. Berry, D.-. J. H. Vincent, Rev. Jos. Cook, and Rov. Geo. A. Peitz, of the party. Upon arriving ar-riving at Ogden brief addresses of welcome wel-come were delivered by Gov. Emery and Joseph Sandford of that city, which were responded to by Dr. Vinceni and Rev. Peltz. Yesterday the greater portion of the party came to ttra city and Bpent the day in visiting visit-ing prominent points; ihe remaindf r stayed in Oden and will doubtless 00 me to Salt Like to-day. The party consisted entirely of persons interested in Sunday school matters, and came from all parU of the eastern Btates. Tney will remain bcre over to-day and will then proceed to Yosemite, where the great Sunday School con 1 ventioo is to be hold. Some of the party will preach iu J this city tj-day. j |
