William Cullen Bryant, at 2 o'clock this morning, experienced a sudden change for the worse, and bis breathing became heavy and etertcr-oub. etertcr-oub. Hie daughter and grand daughter, daugh-ter, Mlsb Goodwin, John H. Graham, and the doctors were summoned, aud remained with him until he died, eoou after 5 o'clock. Four days ago one side .of hia body was paralyzed, and late last night the other side wae aimilarly stricken, and vitality was alone apparent in hia head. The re mains now repose in Ihe library.
