Show "John T. Bender." The man arrested at Nephi aud brought to this city on suspicion of being John T. Bender, the "son of his father," is another man entirely. On Sunday Major Gordon, of Camp Douglas, cumcdown and recognized the supposed Kansas notoriety as his former bugler, who deserted last Spring. The Major says that while he ciui vouch for his bugler as not being be-ing Bender, he has frequently known him to be on a "bender." We understand un-derstand the prisoner, upon being arrested, told who he was, prefering tbe stigma of desertion to being thought a Bender. He was removed to Camp Douglas, aud will probably be taken from there to the penitentiary, peniten-tiary, this being the second time he has deserted the United States army. |
