Show Two ladies, in Mount Vernon, 111., Mrs. S. 8. Wilson and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Thos. Watson, were determined deter-mined last week to carry out the temperance tem-perance movement, if need be with powder and lead. Mrs. Wilson drew her pistol on a drug store clerk and demanded to see the prescription upon which her husband could get whisky. The clerk got the lady soothed down enough to admit that, the doctor prescribing and not the clerk who served the drug was the, proper person to be challenged. The! ladies repaired to the doctor, and with drawn pistols demanded a revocation revo-cation of tbat prescription, and the doctor hastened to comply. liefore they laid asido their batteries, t(ic ladits visited the drug stores and liquor saloons, and with tho fullest assurance that the amazons meant business, every one promised that Wilson should have no more cocktails cock-tails or whisky medicine. |
