The following brief but just notice, I and tribute to the memory of the late joint-eJi tor. of the Herald, we clip from the Daily Times, St. Louis, We regret very much to hear of the death of Edward L. He was a stout, vigorous vigor-ous man, who 6eemed to have a prom iso of at least half a century before be-fore bim, but like mtmy ottier men of the same physical stamp, yielded suddenly and uiiixpectedly todisease. Mr. Sloan w.is a man of unusual intelligence, in-telligence, well educated, amiable in all tue relations of social life, honor-ablo honor-ablo in his outride dealings, and his loss wiil be deeply deplored in the we?t where he was well and favorahly known. |
