Show Theatre. It having been announced early yesterday thatMis3 Katherine Rogers would not arrivo in time to appear last evening, there was consequently a very poor attendance at the theatre. The play of "Under the Gaslight," wcich was substituted, was well played and appeared to give good satisfaction to the audience. This evening Shakspeare's fine tragedy of "Romeo and Juliet" will be presented with Miss Katherine Rogers aa Juliet, supported by Mr. Sawtelle as 'Romeo,-ftLra.xi.. i.-..i..- Arnr-cutio, Arnr-cutio, Mr. Vinson as Friar Lawrence, Mr. Crosbie as Peter, Mr. Thome as Tybalt, Mr3. Reaas the Nurse, while the other parts are in competent hands. The fair lady, who makes her first , appearance here to-night, will doubtless doubt-less receive a warm welcome from our citizens who always appreciate Bterling worth, and Miss Rogers is said to possess pos-sess the true ring of dramatic art. |
