Show Never Backs Ont. In the Senate debate on the bill concerning the practice in Territorial Courts, Senator Carpenter said: "The greatest judges of the earth have occasionally oc-casionally had to back out." The Senator evidently knew not of our McKean, the "greatest" of the judges of the earth, he who says "The Supreme Court of the United States seems to have got things iuto a bad snarl through recent hasty and inconsiderate incon-siderate rulings in Territorial cases." Judge McKean makes mistakes accidental ones, of course-but he never backs out and says in a "manly way" that he will correct them. Xo, not he ! When tho Supreme Court of tho United States decides that Judge McKean is wrong as it has done in every case that has been ! taken to that court and ruled upon ! he (McKean) says he will bow jto the higher authority, but he ; believes the Supreme Court is wrong. Senator Carpenter will please make an exception in his statement in favor of the "greatest" Judge on earth. |
