Show Theatre. Last night there was a i good house assembled on the occasion of Mr. Harris' benefit and a fine entertainment enter-tainment was prepared, the only fault being that the performance dragged considerably in places. "The Poor Nobleman" is a neat and touching drama, yet some of its lengthy specch-esand specch-esand dialogue could be "out" to advantage. ad-vantage. "Solon Shingle" is too well known to need comment; and we may only say that Mr. Harris mado a very capital Solon. The singing by Mrs. Thomas and Miss Davis, and the music by captain Beezley's martial band, were excellently received. To-night the programme is "Ireland 1 As It Is' ' and the ' 'IllustriouB Stranger," Miss Walters playing Judy O'Trotand Mr. McKenzie Dan O'Car-rolan, O'Car-rolan, in the former, supported by an efficient cast; while Mr. Margetts plays tho illustrious Cockney in the latter, the piece cast as when last presented. |
