Show Blue Ledge District. A letter from this district, written by Dr. Gregory, Gre-gory, appears in tho Herald this morning ; and yesterday we received some specimens from the doctor, a note accompanying them which contains other parts of information. In his prospecting be found some gold specimens, speci-mens, two of which wo havo received, showing freo gold very plainly; yet he thinks gold alone will not be found in quantity to pay, but believes it will run into silver that will pay largely. The specimen of ore from the Gregory lodo shows chloride with a trace of what appears like bromide, and is a good indication of richness. That from the chrystal lodo is a very beautiful beauti-ful specimen, though it does not give promise of as much richness as the ore from the Gregory. The Doctor is a Kentleman of largo experience in min-I min-I ing, and we congratulate him on hie good fortune. We shall be pleased to hear from him ajrain. |
