Show irJy W. U. Telegraph. CALIFORNIA, LVSCillSO. Visalia, 24. Jas. McCrory, a noted desperado, who killed several men before, be-fore, phot and killed Charles Al en this afternoon. He was arrested by the officers in an outhnuse, and was armed to the tenth. He was twice taken from the officers by the excited crowd, amid cries of "Hang him! etc The officers succeeded in lodging him. in jail; when a vigilance committee was oreanized around the jail door, and a demand made for the prisoner. Tho sheriff and deputies were over powered, the keys taken from them:! McCrory was taken from the jail and hang to a bridge in the vicinity. The body is still hanging from the bndce amid a pouring of rain. The unanimous unani-mous pentiment of the people "W ell dooc!" Great praise is due the sheriff and his deputies for their efforts to avert the hanging. |
