Show The Yellows tone K.pedilion. New York, 22. Advices from the Yellowstone expedition under date of September 14th, by way of Bismarck. D.T., September l'jth, state that Gen. Guslar, with three squadrons of the seventh cavalry, together with engineers, en-gineers, reached the stockade of the Yellowstone river September 4th, having separated from the main command com-mand three days march cast of the Mussel Shell river. Stanley with the infantry, one squadron of cavalry, and the train, struck directly for the old YellowsLmc trail and was not expected ex-pected at the stoekixle until the 12th. The expedition has been a complete success every object Jfor which it was inaugurated having been effectually effect-ually accomplished. An area of 300 miles of unknown country, to the west and south of the Yellowstone, has been explored, the Indians have been thoroughly whipped, and the survey of the Northern Pacific road has been completed. |
