Show The Army ol'the Tennessee. Toledo, 16. At the business meeting meet-ing of the army of the Tennessee, today. to-day. General Sherman was reelected president for the ensuing year; Gen. John A. Logan, first vice-president; Col. L. S. Dayton, recording secre-i secre-i tary; Gen. I. Hi( kenlooper, corres- ponding secretary; Gen. M. L. Force, treasurer. A series of resolutions, expressive ex-pressive of sorrow for the decease of I certain comrades during the year, ; wis unanimously adopted. j At a banquet to-night, Gen. Sherman Sher-man presided. The toast " The old flag," was responded to by Gen. A. H. Hulbut; the "President of the United States," response by Gen. M. Baire; " The army," response by Secretary Belknap; "The navy," response by Rear Admiral Mordcn; "Our soldiers," responso by Gen. Pope; "Our dead," response by Gen. W. E. Strong; "The Geneva arbitration," arbitra-tion," response by Hon. Mr. Waite; "The army of the Cumberland," response by Gen. J. B. Stcedman; "The ladies," response by Phil. Sheridan. (By special request,) music, " The girl I left behind me." Tlie seventh reunion is pronounced by all in attendance here as one of the largest and most interesting in the "history of the society. , The next annual meeting will be held at Springfield, 111., Oct. 14th and loth, 1S74. |
