The irrigation convention con-vention of delegates from all the western Territories and ritatos, permanently per-manently organized by the choice of Go-vernor Furnas, of Xebniska,. as President, and Vice-Presidents from each State and Territory represented, including Governor Elbert, of Colo- rauo, Governor v itmpneii. oi u-ming, u-ming, Governor Satlbrd, of Arizona, Governor BurNink, of Dakota, and Governor Bolts,' of Montana. A letter let-ter from Senator Conkling, of New York,- expressed hearty sympathy with the objects of the convention; and a vote of thanks was passed for the interest be has manifested in ft subject of such groat importance to j tlie people of the west. A committee reported a'"riiemorial to Congress, urging the setting apar : of a certain portion of the public lands now useless for agricultural purposes, the same to be sold by the States and Territories in which the same may be located, and the proceeds pro-ceeds applied to the building of canals can-als for the purpose of irrigation, and by means of which the land may be made arable,; - Mr. Musser, of Salt Lake, detailed at length the system of irrigation in use in that Territory, which was ordered or-dered published. The day lias been entirely occupied by the discussion of the great subject which brought the delegates together. (.-l.cciiil to tho IlnuiP.) Denver, Oct. 10., 10.10 p.m. The Convention on Irrigation has adjourned,- The discussions were of the most interesting character, and the attendance at-tendance of so many prominent men was evidence of the importance with which the subject is viewed all through the west. .The details of the system of irrigation practised in Utah, as given by Mr. A. Milton Musser, of Salt Lake,' were : listened" to ; with marked attention", and the appreciation apprecia-tion of their value was manifested by the carrying of a motion for their publication. .The Convention adjourned ad-journed until July 2ith, 1$7,"10 meet in Salt Lake City. At tho evening session ses-sion it was resolved to ask the aid of the, legislature of the various States and Territories, in furtherance of the memorial, and to send a copy of the documents to the Executive of each State and Territory of the Union.
