Show Two Days' Racing. On Friday and Saturday next, at Faust's track, commencing at 2.30 each afternoon, there will be a scries of trotting and mnning races, the last named day being a complimentary benefit, the proceeds to be given to J St. Mark's Hospital. The races will be inaugurated on j Friday with a half mile dash, between . lioach's b g Charley and Menu's pinto : pony, for $-100. ; This will be followed by a trotting match for $100, mile heats, three in ! five, to harness and rule, for which Oco. Saturday there will be two double I team races, livery teams to wagons, I mile and repeat, free to all. Some of the fastest livery teams in the city have been named for this race. Tools in any of the races will be sold at the Stock Board saloon tonight to-night and tomorrow night Thursday and Friday and at the course on the afternoons of the races. Col. Dickey, proprietor of the track, has exerted himself in making the necessary preparations for having everything pass off pleasantly, and there is no doubt the admirers of fast horse-flesh will be well represented. He speaks in warm terms of the ready response given to all applications for aid for the Hospital benefit, every livery stable in town instantly furnishing furnish-ing a team. |
