Show A Fabrication. A brief report of an alleged secret session of the Labor Reform convention of Pennsylvania was telegraphed last week. We were then informed that these secret conveners con-veners had decided to urge the names of O'Connor and Saulsbury on the Louisvillian Blantonduncanites, for President and vice-president. And now comes the ohairman of the Penn-! Penn-! sylvania central executive oommittce of Labor Reformers, and denounces the thing as a fabrication. Politicians who descend to such despicable means to bolster up their cause, are in rather a poor plight. Who is it? Tho following appeared in the San Francisco "Chronicle" of a recent date; probably somo person of this city will know who the unfortunate unfortun-ate man is: A young man about twenty-seven years of age came to the New Wisconsin Wiscon-sin hotel about eight o'clock yesterday morning, and complained of being destitute des-titute and sick, lie took a bed, and last evening his room being found locked, the door was forced and ho was found dead in bed. Appearances about tho room and tho disposition oi his clothes, indicated that he retired for the purpose of sleep, but the coroner coro-ner discovered a whito handkerchief so tightly about his neck as to lead to the supposition that he committed suicide by strangulation. Ho gave his name as John Thomas, late of Salt Lake and Nevada, when asked by tho clerk yesterday yes-terday morning. His body was taken to the morpuc to await identification, when an inquest will beheld. |
