Show Bullion Stealing'. Sometime during Thursday night fifty bars of base bullion the aggregate ag-gregate value of $SX)0, suddenly and mystcrouely disappeared from the Mountain Chief smelting works al Sandy. In the morning a wagon was tracked from the smelter to some distance dis-tance out of town where the bullion was found buried in the ground. Following the track the gentlemen in search found the wagon at a house in the vicinity. When told what had occurred the owner informed them that a couple of men, Jerry Deady and William Leah, had used the wagon the night previous. Mr.Sewell, who has charge of the smelter, immediately im-mediately arretted one of tho accused, brought him to this city and turned him over to the authorities. In the afternoon officers Burt and Hampton Hamp-ton went to Sandy and arrested tho other party. Both are now in jail awaiting a hearing, which is to be held this afternoon at l o'clock. |
