The "straight-out" Democrat c State convention met in the senate chamber this afternoon, and was called to order by major W.O. Moreau Dr. Sherrod was chosen chairman! About ono hundred persons were present. pres-ent. The chairman said they had assembled as-sembled for the purpose of reorganizing and rebaptizing the Democratic party ol the State of Indiana, and would at once proceed to business. Committees were then appointed to report candidates candi-dates for a State ticket and electors at large ; and a State central committee to prepnre an address to tho Democrats of the State. A resolution was unanimously unani-mously adopted endorsing the candidates candi-dates for president and vice-president nominated at Louisville. JUr. Smith claiming to boa Democrat who would not support (ireoley, offered a resolution resolu-tion recommending no nominations to he made for a State ticket, and that tho : convention enaorse and support the State ticket Dominated oa the 10th of June. Tho chair decided the resolution out of order, tho convention having already appointed a committee to report a Statu ticket.
