Show Davenport Mine. Mr. Liter, the superintendent of tho Davenport, has brought to town some specimens of a vein struck in the bottom of the company's com-pany's long incline, near one hundred and seventy feet below tho surface. The vcii is seven and a half feet thick, and pitches into the hill, with smooth walls. The ore far excels in valuo anything hiLhcrto found in tho mine, although it is admitted to bo one of tho richest in Little Cottonwood. This shows that work, alone, brings to light tho hidden wealth below the ground; and the "Emma," that has so wido a reputation, may bo compelled com-pelled to yield the "collar" to some other mine within tho range. If tho Davenport boys are to be tho lucky onos the Herald congratulates them. |
