Show Woman Suffrage. Mrs. Cutler lectured last night on Woman Suffrage, Suf-frage, in the old Tabernacle, to a large and intelligent audience, many of whom were ladies. She is a calm, deliberate de-liberate speaker, enunciates clearly, reasons olosely and holds her audienco lively interested in bcr argument. A meagre synopsis of the lecture would not do it justice, for tho points were many and well made. Sho does not seem enthusiastically in favor of women holding office, thinking rightfully right-fully that a public officer is a public sorvant, and considering that woman has higher duties to perform in rearing citizens and moulding their future than io serving tho public in official posi-1 tions. But she claims ibr women equal rights with men, and justcr laws towards them, which she contends cannot bo obtained until women have the right, by their votes, to ;.pe:ik through tneir representatives in legislative legis-lative halls. The lecture w;n listened to with much attention. |
