Its foun- j ders, Messrs. Jamc3 Robbing, James ( Asher and Major Harmon, gentlemen, of perscveranca and energy, soon proved the wealth of this mineral belt! by an immediate commencement to prospect on a thorough scale, when they discovered and located what is now known as Mineral Hill. On this hill are located the Ellen Maria, the Caroline Bobbins and the Mariin lodes. Assays from these ledges vary from $15 up to $110 in silver per ton, besides a large per centage in lead. The assays were made by Messrs. Howland & Co, and there are large bodies of this ore in sight, and the owners are buaily engaged extracting "rlata" therefrom. |
