Show New Political Party. The following fol-lowing was handed to us last night: Pursuant to a notice headed "New Political Party," which appeared in the Herald of the 17th inst., a meeting meet-ing assembled on Thursday evening at Brooks' Hall. Mr. C. XV. Tappan called the meeting meet-ing to order, and on motion Mrs. G. II. Spear, of San Francisco, was elected president and C. VV. Tappan secretary. secre-tary. The call for tho meeting was read from the Herald, also two calls from WoodhuUand Clojln's IJ 'eekly, for a "People's Convention" to be held in New York oity on the 9th and 10th of May.
