Show I THK PROFIT IN COPPER MINING We have on several occasions spoken : of the great profit in copper mining at the present prices for ores and the pure metal, and have given statistical evidences in proof of the correctness of our opinion upon the subject. At the present price of copper, or even at & reduction of twenty-five per cent, from that price, which is allowing an ample margin for any probable decline, the profits of copper mining are greater than those of average silver mining. In proof of this statement and with the view of calling more particular attention atten-tion among our miners to the value of the copper mines of the Territory, we cjpy the following from the New York HurM, with reference to the profits upon the copper production of the Lake Superior region: Lot us stop to drop a sympathetic tear upon the native copper producer, who is in d inger of ruin from free Chilian and European copper. Here j is a picture of present destitution. Let 1 CMncres.-men contemplate it before they, tinker the tariff.
