Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Bated, who were i leading members of Proctor's theatri-i eal company during the past season, left tho city yesterday for Salt Lake, where they are to fuiril an eogacement of two weeks. During their residence 1 in Sacramento they have made a host of friends, not only in the line of business, bus-iness, but in private life, and scores of these were at the depot to with the travelers God-speed. Oa the evening previous to their departure Bates was presented at the Gotham saloon, by John H. Maginnis, on behalf of a number of intimate friends, with a beautiful set of jewelry, comprising sleeve buttons, ituds and collar button. The recipient returned his thanks in a graceful anncr. |
