Show Ilow Is It, A remark by ono of tho counsel in tho court yesterday, when the case of tho People vs. Shean was up, seemed a little curious. He was anxious tho J udge should accom-, accom-, pany counsel to Thompson's residence I to have his testimony taken, intimating intima-ting that if the matter were intrusted to an otlieer there were doubts of its , being attended to. Subsequent in-Iquiries in-Iquiries went to show that when the warrant was issued lor tho arrest ol Shean, the Marshal or his Deputy refused re-fused to execute it until tho fees were paid. Why is this? Are these gentleman gen-tleman to claim full control in executing execu-ting the processes issuing from the courts, the regular Territorial officers being excluded, and then prevent the due and speedy execution of justice in 1 such manner. |
