Show DIAMONDS IN DAKOTA. i The Yankton Dukolian of Sept. 7th , has the following: A rough diamond was found on the bank of the Jim river, worth over $5U,U00, recently, by a Mr. Fitch. lie kept me matter very still, and nnally j sent it to a jeweller in the east, who j sends back the cheering news that it is a genuine diamond of the first water, I and worth an enormous sum of money, j Mr. Kitch is very reticent about the matter, and will not throw any light upon (he place of di-ri 'very. lie says ! that he was walking alung .the bank, and discovered an object that shone as i bright as the brightest star. lie in-i in-i stan try secured the object from its bed i in tho mud, and washed it. lie was : of the opiuion that it was a magnificent diamond, and his opinions have proved j to be correct. Those who saw it speak 1 i of it as a most brilliant gem. Mr. , Cook, our jeweller, savs it must be j worth at least $100,000. Mr. Fitch will probably give us more light on the I discovery soon. He may Lake another trip, and perhaps find more, thereby creating a diamond excitement in Dakota Da-kota equal to tho famous diggius in Africa. Later. We have just been informed that Mark SI.
