Show Anniversary Celebration. We publish this corning the programme of proceedings at the celebration next .Monday of tip; Glorious Fourth. The committee of arrangements have acted wisely in not having a fatiguing and cumbrous procession, which alway-enervates alway-enervates those engaged in it in such hot weather, and renders them unfit for really enjoying the great national holiday and anniversary. The programme is an ample one ; the orator and speakers well chosen, the music will be excellent, and a spirited celebrali n is certain. It is to be hoped that the request to su-pend business during the day will be generally ob served by all. Keeping a store door half open with one or two clerks inside wou'd bring no trade for the day, and would only prevent those thus shut in doors from joining with their fellow citizens in the exercises and otherwise enjoying a day of treripral rejoicing. |
