Show Powder Explosion. On Saturday Satur-day last Mr. and Mrs. Laird, residing in Parley's canon, started from their residence with a team, another man whose name we did not learn being with them. There was a box in the wagon containing some matches and a can of powder, as well as a tact also containing powder. It is supposed that some of the matches had ignited, as the can of powder exploded, throwing throw-ing Mr. Laird out of the wagon between be-tween the horses, by which he was considerably con-siderably injured; burning Mrs. Laird's face, siDgeing ber eye-brows and burning burn-ing her front hair. The other man in the wagon had a long beard and it was burned close to his face. The sack caught fire, but before the powder in it was reached, it was extinguished. Mr. Laird is confined to his bed from the injuries received. |
