Show Futile Attempt. A portion of the Democratic press of this Coast, have been engaged in the (to them) congenial con-genial task of crying down Hon. Thos. Fitch, and denouncing him as a Mormon Mor-mon sympathizer. Mr. Pitch's offending offend-ing consists in having opposed, while a Representative in Congress, the passage pas-sage of the Cullom bill for the suppression suppres-sion of polygamy. The bill was an atrocious measure, and failed to become a law. Now that Mr. Fitch has settled set-tled in Salt Lake City, for the purpose of engaging in the practice of law, he is heartily welcomed by the Mormons, and in fact by all who have sense enough to appreciate his high order of talents. Notwithstanding opposition, Mr. Fitch will meet with eminent success suc-cess in his new field of labor. Nevada State Journal. |
