Show Geological Scrvey. On Saturday Satur-day night a- telegraphic di-patch was received at Camp Douglas from head quarters department of the Platte, calling call-ing for an escort for Professor Clarence King, U. S.- geological Burvey. On Sunday Lieut. S. M. Swigert, with filteen men of the 21 cavalry, left by train for Fort Bridger, there to await the orders of Professor King. It is believed the survey wiil be first extended extend-ed into the Uintah region, which presents pre-sents strong claims for an early scientific scien-tific exploration. |
