Show Recoonized. Tho following note from Gustavo Henriod, Esq., of this city, throws light on the inquiry as to who was the man Ibuud dead on the bench on Saturday. City, April 30, 1S71. By reading this morning's Herald I discover that the body oi a dead man has been found near the 10th Ward "sand hole." The description of the clothes, age, appearance, Ico., proves very plainly to me that the remains are those of John S. May, late from California. The gentleman lived with me several weeks, and was very kindly treated. His mind was often wandering wander-ing and at times he appeared quite deranged de-ranged and wild. My family very easily eas-ily recognized the handkerchiefs, clothes, eie., which they had given him while he was at my house. He left suddenly about the 7th or Sth of March, without giving any warning, and went to the house of Mr. Delouehe, in the Sth Ward, where he remained some three weeks and again disappeared. Mr. Delouehe told me some time ago, that he was afraid Mr. May had committed com-mitted suicide, as he had left in a very strange way. He has a son and daughter living at Xephi, Juab Co.; and had no reason, that I am aware o', to be tired of his life. Gustaye Henriod. |
