Show Utah Woolen Goods. By the September number of The Bureau, we notice that Mr. James Cummings had the Deseret Mills, near this city, represented repre-sented at the third annual exposition of the Woolen Manufacturers' Association Associ-ation of the west and south, held at Indianapolis early in August, by lour pieces of cassimeres, two pieces of tweeds, one piece of ch:k flannel, one pair of blankets and one shawl. We are glad of it, for it is time the eait and west should get to understand what has been and is being done in Ut ih to encourage manufactures. The i n'.y regret is that other mills of the Territory were 'mf represented as well; but it is to be noped that when such another opportunity occurs, all tie mills now running, and others that may be put in operation before that time, will not fail to avail themselves of it. When the people of Utah get to understand that home-made fabric-, can be laid si-je by side and compare favorably with the goods they have been accustomed to import, they will the more readily patronize home manufactures. |
