Show By Telesraph. j International Boat Race. Montreal, Sept. 1.3. The International Interna-tional boat race took place this afternoon. after-noon. The weather was fine, with a light breeze. The two crews started at 16 minutes past 5, at the firing of a eun, amid tremendous cheering. The Tyne crew rowed naked to the waist. The St. John's wore fancy shirts. Both crews dipped their ars simulta-tteouslv. simulta-tteouslv. After a few swee ing strokes, the T'vne took the lead at a hundred yards. The Tyro seemed to increase the lead, rowing well within themselves, them-selves, with a magnificent stroke. At a quarter of a mile, the St. John's drew Up a little, but the Tyne put on a tremendous spurt, the boat jumping out of the water at ever" stroke. At half a mile the Tyne crow were a lenghth ahead, and gradually creeping forward and working like machines. The St. John's crew seemed to be rowing a waiting rice. On turning the buoy, the Tyne led by three lenghts. 'and in the"home stretch rowed at ar. unparalleled pace, with the precision pre-cision cf au automaton, winning the race bv six clear lenghths.
