Strickland presiding, convened j in the court hoa-e yesterdav Ter.rn- jnis-. at ten o'clock. The" grand I jury of twenty member:, were" caii-j-ed. sworn and charged by the Judge, to investigate into matters I wherein the laws of" the United States i had been violated. On the jurv retiring re-tiring the civil docket was read. " The Court then admitted about Er.een aliens to citizenship, and adjourned until un-til 10 a.m. to-day. i At 10 a m. to day, the Grand Jury :came into Court and presented on-! on-! bill, and retired to investigate into Territorial business. Twelve or fifteen aliens were admitted, ad-mitted, and the Court aijourned until 2 p m. hen the Court resumed session. the case of Fnel, vs. A. II. Noon, on apical was called. After investigating the matter mat-ter it was referred back to the Justice's Jus-tice's court to be re-opened and heard. Some twelve aliens were admitted, among the nutuber one man who owned to having two wives, but m ir-ried ir-ried them before the act of lio2 was passed- After considerable questioning question-ing the court admitted him. to citizenship, citizen-ship, complimenting him for his honesty. hon-esty. The following civil suits have been acted on : Iliwk- vs. Hawkins, went by default against defendant. Brigham Youns vs. Black was called call-ed and continued until adjourned term. R. M. Rogers vs. Jos. Sheppird and Parley Draper was called and continued contin-ued until adjourned term. The grand jury has been in session two days, and han apparently been very busy, |
