Show A HUGE SSAKE STORY. Grand River I Mo.) Dec. is, IsTu. Your reade-s will doubtless throw this paper down with the exclamation of "Pshaw, I dnu't be ieve a word of it.'' after they have read this story; hence I have hereunto attached my oath before be-fore a Justice of the Peace: List Monday morning, I went out in the limber on Grand River to look for a missing steer, and wheu entering enter-ing a deep undergrowth of timber, I was startled to find the remains of a tuok it to be a yearling call', w hich had not, from appearances, been killed more than two hours. The snow was pre-scd down around the animal, but not a loot-track of any kind culd be I'bsct ved. This aroused my curiosity, and I at once set to work to solve the mystery, which I was not long in doing, do-ing, as the trail of a huge anaconda, so large that it could be noticed for a bundled yards ahead, was seen to lead off from where I first made the discovery. discov-ery. N.it being content with my discoveries, dis-coveries, I at once determined to find where the tremendous insect or marvellous mar-vellous animal had secreted himself, which I found about a mile up the river ri-ver in a ledge of rock; and when I approached ap-proached the excavation' I cou d ste enough of his snakeship to make a rough .estimate of his dimensions, He was at least thirty-six inches in circumference, cir-cumference, and as I saw only about twelve feet of his body, I could not say as to his length, but honestly believe him to be at least twenty-four feet long. I did not dare to go nearer the den than twenty yards, as I was not armed, but intend to investigate his case as soon as I can get assistance. This snake has been seen once before be-fore by a couple of hunters, but their story was so near like the one I tell that no one would believe it.
