Show I Fair. The Fair of the Ladies' Christian Association opened yesterday evening as per announcement, and was well attended considering the state of the weather and the attractions elsewhere. The display was, on the whole, very fine, especially in needlework, needle-work, quilting and embroidery. Ladies La-dies behind the counters dispensed cigars, ci-gars, candies, &c, to those wishing to purchase. Of course the ".N ew Kng-land Kng-land dinner" was a specialty, and evoked many pleasant reminiscences. Nor must Commodore Nutt and Minnie Min-nie Warren be forgotten, got up for the occasion by Mrs. Gould. The representations of the diminutive couple were funny-looking immensely so. |
