Show Intsresti.no Lecture. Professor Ballerieve delivered a very interesting lecture in connection with the University Uni-versity of Deseret, on Friday afternoon, after-noon, there being a large number of students and visitors present. The subject was the revival of literature, j science and art, after the dark ages had passed like a night of gloom over the world. The Professor treated his subject in a comprehensive, luminous, and highly instructive manner, tracing in the great names that grace the history his-tory of the 16th and 17th centuries the growth of from the gloom of semi-bar-barism to the enlightenment which stamps the nations now foremost in culture. Next: Friday afternoon Dr.F. D. Benedict will continue his course of lectures on chemistry, "Water" being the gubje.-t. |
