BILU In the Senate, on Friday, Sawyer moved to grant pensions to soldiers of the. war of 112, whose services were specifically recognized by Congress, although their service may have been less than three months. Sawyer faid the amendment applied to some five or six survivors of a little Land of hoys, who took part in the battle of Platts-burgh, Platts-burgh, and were honorably mentioned in Gen. Mcfekiok's despatches nnd in the resolution of Congress. The amendment amend-ment was assented to. The amendment amend-ment to give pen-ions to all who served three months during the war, iuteal of requiring three months eornccutivo service, was agreed to. The bill was further amended so as to allow pensions, pen-sions, only to widows of soldiers who were married at the time of the war of lxlU, and excluding those who wcro subsequently married; also making the term of'service two instead uf three months. On motion of Stearns the provisions of the bill extended to the widows of revolutionary soldiers, and tho bill then passed.
