Show The Dividend Cut Down The Herald is informed that at the meeting of the directors of the Mercur company to be held today the usual dividend of 18 cents a share or 36000 will be cut down to 12 ½ cents a share or 25000 being the amount regularly paid by the company previous to the sale of the Resolute fraction to Captain Cap-tain J R De Lamar I was further stated that the output of the Mercur mine and mill would easily enable the company to pay a monthly dividend of 25000 but no more on account of which it was proposed pro-posed to keep a good treasury surplus which is now in the neighborhood of 100000 and this will not be broken into or impaired unless something extraordinary ex-traordinary occurs The Mercur which will be able to maintain regular monthy dividends of 25000 is one of the best investment stocks on the market today and although al-though it is now on the downgrade because of the cut in dividends the depression de-pression will be but temporary as the showing in the property is such a to guarantee these regular distributions of wealth for a great many years to come I |
